I discovered these on the back wall of my tank. It looks like my black ocellaris is guarding them. Could they be eggs? I have an orange and black ocellaris.
Hard to tell with that pic but if you see them constantly fussing with them and fanning them yes most likely they are eggs.
yes those are eggs. I had a pair of clowns that mated once a month and the eggs looked just like the ones in your tank.
YOU GOT EGGS !! This is a common event once your clowns mature and are healthy. They should spawn every couple weeks. Too bad it's so hard to raise them. Well not hard, just time, space, and food requirements are pretty critical.
Austin I talked to one of our fish supplier reps a logn time ago about this and from what he said a black clown and an orange clown produce mocha clown babies, which are gorgeous!!! we currently have a waiting list of about 6 pairs we need to find and never seem to, so if hes right that would be some gorgeous babies!!! Good luck with the whole new father thing haha! Also I am a little sad that I didn't see this thread till today, last night I noticed the exact same thing on the wall of my 5 gallon fluval edge and didn't think anything of it and one quick swipe of my magnet cleaner killed lots of baby clown fish : ( no!! but that brings to question how big the clowns need to be to breed etc... I bought the clowns from memfish only 3 weeks ago and they were in a tank of about 20 clowns I wasn't even sure if they were paired up yet and they are in a five gallon tank to boot. so anyone with more indepth info about this I've been wanting to research this topic for a while now. but never got a straight answer from the internet.
