Vanessa can order them for you. @Botheboss ...one of mine is very shy. The other has cleaned our a little home for herself right next to the glass. Love them. How are yours fairing?
Odd pods in my nano sump...look a little like squishy egg shaped pods with a tube mouth. And there are tons of them. Thoughts?
You are correct! A few of them finally made it into the tank, cleaned up and bright looking. They are pineapple sponges. Yay!
Thank you! It may be a couple of months before I'm free to get to a meeting, but I look forward to seeing them!
I have a new critter in my nano! I bought a little sea cucumber (sand cleaner) and his comensenal emperor shrimp. The emperor hitches rides on my turbo snails too. I'm a little nervous about the sea cucumber. He has been hanging out on the back rock work against the back of the tank the last 4 days instead of chomping sand. Chris thinks I should pull him out and not risk toxins in the tank. I haven't decided yet. He's so ugly he's cute. He looks like this one. No expelling here in my tank so far...but I do hope he was handled gently prior and still has his guts to do some sand eating.
I found this little guy irritating a Zoa today. I'm guessing he's a bad guy. Any thoughts? He's tiny...which worries me. I may have missed eggs on a coral. @Deton8it @DCHarrington @huntindoc @Botheboss
I have found these in Zoas before and I have found their eggs too. I know it was their eggs because the snail was still laying them. I assume they are bad because most pests lay eggs near food. However, the only snail that I know for a fact is bad for Zoas is a Sundial Snail and this isn't one. If I know it is a pest I toss it out. These, I toss out because I think it is a pest.
With in doubt toss it out! This a hitchhiker thread on the site I check whenever I'm in doubt but a lot of this look very similar.
