my red tile sea star is melting. I have had it for a couple of weeks and it has been doing great. But since my power was knocked out during the storms it has started to melt at the tips. I am running a generator to power my lights, skimmer, and return. I haven’t put the heater on because the water temps have been decent. About 75 degrees.

The only things I can think of maybe temp fluctuations at night, or ph issues because of co2. It’s my wife and 4 year old’s favorite addition to the tank, so any help would be nice.

Unfortunately that is what often happens them no matter how well maintained. I have about given up on keeping starfish other than brittle/serpent stars even though I did keep a blue linckia for 3 years.

K hopefully it recovers. But I have prepped my wife and daughter in case it doesn’t. My power came back on yesterday. Which was awesome since they were projecting Sunday.
