    Hi, everybody.

I make my own chopped clam/oyster/shrimp food. Now, I will not have to shuck oysters, pry open clams, and cut up my hands. I ordered LRS Reef Frenzy and Herbivore Frenzy online directly from Larry's Reef Services because we have no retailers that sell it in my area.

I received my package quickly, in perfect frozen (block hard) condition and affordable shipping. The food was packed with dry ice in a Kodiakooler.

The food is packaged in heavy duty (thick) plastic zip sealed bags. When I soaked the food as instructed it smelled fresh. I could see the different types of seafoods in it and was chopped to a perfect consistency. My fish ate it without hesitation. The corals had a strong feed response to it also.

I am really impressed with this food. An added bonus with Reef Frenzy is that it has rotifers. phyto and other healthy ingredients that my home-made food was missing.

I just thought all of you would like to know about this product and how good it actually is.

    Just out of the box:

    Hello, Greg.
I am hoping some of the LFSs will carry this product. Larry, the owner, is really eager to serve and dedicated to his procuct. Larry gave me some samples to give to the LFS. Which do you recommend? I was thinking Fish Tank and Northside Aquatics. Ideas?
While there are no retailers here he says we could even do a group buy to spread the costs of shipping.
I suggested to him that he check out our club and maybe sponsor us. :)

Edit: At first I was considering Paradise Pets but I do not think they carry frozen foods. When I have asked for frozen in the past they have not had any. Any one know?

I have been following Larry's on FaceBook, I wish someone local would carry his product. I would say The Tank, I don't go to the Dark Side :); I only go to SPONSOR stores. Let me know what you think of his product.

Your St.Thomas Mushroom is doing great, you should come visit sometime.

Haha! I get you. Okay I will try Paradise Pets and The Tank.

Yay! I have not forgotten either about our trade. :) It has been a bit crazy busy-wise for me, but your Zoas have healed and are growing. I will let you know.

I've heard tons of good stuff about this food as well. I'd be up for a group buy if enough are interested.

    Hi, John.

Yes, I hope there is enough interest to do a group buy. I think we have three interested so far. :D

Thank you Ercilia for such a great review and for recommending the site to me. I am glad to know that some of you have already found our website and Facebook. I would be glad to support the club with a small donation of food to pass out at a club meeting. Unfortunately, this late in the year has exhausted much of our sponsor budget since we support over a dozen clubs!

We are a family of reefers, who support fellow hobbyists and stores as well, who helped cement our success.

We just did a group buy for a club in Texas and I can offer you guys similar terms. Our foods are a fresh, human grade, lab certified aquarium food packaged in a 8 oz package. Many stores sell our food for $20.99-22.99.

For a group buy I would offer an introduction price of $18 per pack and flat $15 shipping. If you all get above 12 packs I will pay 100% of the shipping!

Here is a little, (ok long) introduction about who we are and why our foods are rapidly rising to the top of the freezer in nearly 100 stores in the US.

    Thanks for the support!

I hope I don't violate any site policies by wanted to introduce you our business. A large majority of customers follow our facebook page at www.facebook.com/Larrysreefservices and/or subscribe to our monthly newsletter via the link on our website. It's long winded, but I promise our story is worth the read.

If you want to skip the read, here is a Youtube interview with yours truly. Skip to middle for feeding demos to see why this food is the cleanest, complete BLEND on the market that will not cloud your water or make your skimmer go crazy.

    Well where do I start......

In early 2012 I began to source fresh seafood from the Carolina coast and supplement it with mysis shrimp, krill, rotifers, fresh phyto, zooplankton, Selco, etc to create an easier way to feed my tanks. No big deal, right lots of folks make their own food. Well a couple local stores wanted to sell my ultra rinsed, super fresh, human grade food so I began the process to get it licensed and lab tested, to be legal. After all I have been a sworn police officer for a decade and had to start my part time food business off legally. Soon we had our lab work done, PhD reviews, and word about our food soon spread to where we were supplying 25+ stores in NC with our food!

After February 2013 the demand for our foods took off at a rapid pace and I resigned from the Police Department effective March 10th. I simply could not balance both, and I had to decide which I enjoyed more, as well as which had more income potential for my family. Honestly, I have not regretted a single day being out of that hot, sweaty uniform. By reinvesting 100% of our profits we have now established a $25,000 commercial kitchen with pneumatic packaging equipment to package upwards of 50 eight ounce packs a minute. All of our packs are inspected by hand while packaging and a second time before shipping.

Our facility has 4 commercial freezers/coolers and is 100% backed up with an auto-transfer switch and propane powered generator to protect our inventory.

We still get deliveries of fresh seafood twice a week and our inventory of product is stable and we have no "back orders." We work hard, efficient and balance what ships out to what we produce so the food doesn't age in our freezers before getting to your store.

May was a great month for us as we were featured in Tropical Fish Hobbyist Magazine as a "new product" spotlight. The US Patent Office also approved Reef, Herbivore and Fish Frenzy as registered trademarks for our company. We also picked up key endorsements from Jason Fox Signature Corals, Mr. Saltwater Tank, and Reef pioneer Mr. Albert Thiel, after they purchased food from us at a swap. (All are pictured on our website here: http://www.larrysreefservices.com/Testimonials.html

We also updated our product labels with UPC barcodes and a new glossy finish, which really pops in the display. Our labels also now meet the strict standards set forth by the Association of America Feed Control Officials. (I can tell you that many fish foods on the market do not conform to these labeling standards, pertaining to font sizes, descriptors, lab tests, etc.) As we formed relationships with key vendors we were able to upgrade to the highest quality mysis shrimp available for our blends. They cost us more but one peek inside the package and the difference is obvious why we chose this brand of Mysis.

We are in the final process of approving the "wrap" for our new blue Ford Focus Hatch in full coverage Reef Frenzy graphics. It should look awesome going down the road to trade shows and visiting stores. Speaking of going down the road, my son and I put 8,000 miles on the car in 6 weeks traveling to nearly 30 fish stores from NC to GA to shake hands and give out samples. I believe this old fashioned, "I want to earn your business" attention to our customers has been the key to our success.

We also have our foods stocked by online giants such as Premium Aquatics and Thatpetplace.com (The largest pet store in the USA)

As we approach our one year anniversary of when we began shipping to stores (8-1-12) we are nearing our goal of having our foods in 100 stores in under a year. This is huge for us as we recently opened up sales to the west coast via Fed-Ex two day air. We are shipping so much food that we finally were able to earn serious Fed-Ex discounts on air shipping. Right now the buzz for our foods in the Houston, TX area is spreading like it did a year ago in NC since adding two stores last month in TX to our network. We are about to lock down stores in Manhattan, Washington, DC and LA as well, likely in the next week.

Bear in mind this has all been with almost zero advertising dollars, and just word of mouth by donating food to frag swap meets in other states, Facebook, cold calling stores, etc. Some of the national web forums have been very kind to us with users posting videos and rave reviews about Reef Frenzy, which recently blew up our email box.....LOL

Through the help of a friend we were able to get our product label digitized and the embroidery file looks amazing! It should be fun when about a dozen of my friends show up at MACNA all wearing the LRS shirts. We are looking forward to that weekend and re-connecting with some stores that stock our food from MI to FL who are attending.

We are not resting on our heels and in fact are developing some pretty innovative things for the fish food world.

We never stop seeking ways to make our products even better, even if it means more time and cost per batch.

I think that is about it......I'm sure I missed something....but oh well.

As always thanks for supporting our family owned and operated business, and I am always available for questions.

Please follow us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/larrysreefservices and visit http://www.reeffrenzy.com and reed the testimonials from folks like Jason Fox and other big names who use our foods.

    Larry,

Thanks for coming to visit. I hope we can set up a group buy. Your food is high quality.

Your son looks so cute in the picture. Your dog is so well behaved. My dog would have tried to eat as many little seafood packets as fast as she could before anyone could stop her. But she is part Beagle so you know how they like to eat! :)

    Thanks again.

Anyone up for a group buy? I was thinking maybe we could get this done and distribute at the meeting next week for those who order. And for those who can't attend, I'd be happy to hold it for them.

    Thanks Whippetguy for the post!

We just did a large group buy for another club and everyone is loving the food. If anyone has been following the 70 page thread on Reef Central about the $20,000 Peppermint Angel, that "Ted" bought, you can read that the first food he trusted this baby to eat was our Probiotic Reef Frenzy!

The terms of a group buy our pretty simple:

All foods are 8 ounce frozen packs which retail for around $20.99-22.99 in stores, with sales and other discounts offered on an individual store basis.

Our online club group buy price is $18 per pack. If the order gets above 12 packs I will pay 100% of the shipping costs. If the order totals less than 12 then shipping is a flat $12.

We also offer our 4 ounce Reef Frenzy-Nano food at $9 per pack and or organic sheet Nori is $7 per pack which is about 21 sheets measuring roughly 7.25 x 4 inches ( I forget offhand)

You can find all the product info on Reeffrenzy.com

(I hope I am not violating any rules by posting the information for the group buy, since I am not a sponsor of the club. Please email me if this is a problem and the original poster and I can communicate directly about all the listed info. I would be happy to donate some food to the club if you guys are having a meeting where it could be raffled off?)

    Thanks,
    Larry

Ok, I will take this on. To give everyone a chance orders will be taken until Sunday evening 10-20-13. Please send me an email at normand12@att.net with your order information. I will place the order on 10-21-13. We need a total of 12 or more packs to get free freight. I believe that to be an easy target. You can pay at the meeting at Blakes or log into your paypal acct and send a payment to: payment@razorbackreef.org
The items and prices are as follows: (you can read about each product on the Reef Frenzy website)
    8oz Packs $18.00
    Reef Frenzy
    Fish Frenzy
    Herbivore Frenzy
    4oz Packs $9.00
    Nano Frenzy
    Nori Sheets

I think this will be a good item for a group order and if this works smoothly we can try it with some different products.
