Very nice. I also had a starry blenny that loved my toadstool. That may be a trait they share. These guys sure have a personality, one of my favorite fish. Seems like I say that about a lot of fish !!!
I understand. I ordered a couple of coral, my tiger pistol shrimp and goby pair at the same time so I was able to talk myself in to paying the shipping. If you ever find something from an online place that you want to order, put up an announcement. Others might want something from the same dealer and can get it to free shipping.
Caught one of my emeralds scavenging for algae. I love these guys.
Quick update. I ditched the hood to my tank in favor of an open top with radion LED like I have on my 50g. I did have to add the wide angle lens to it to get the sides of the tank covered. Tank runs cooler and quieter so I'm very happy.
Beautiful John. Love the new look. Coolest toadstool ever. What basslet is that (Bodianus sepiacaudus?)
Thanks guys. Yes, David, that's a red striped hogfish. Corey, I wish I had room for one too, lol. I never imagined that it would take up that much room.
It's been a long time since I've updated my tank thread. I still have a lot of zoas. The anemone is still king of the tank. I had a problem with calcium a couple of months back and lost most of my hard corals though there weren't many. Fish list is still the same, all doing well. In fact my clowns spawned just before my trip to Japan last October. I did manage to get a quick video of them that I'll share. The orange things are the eggs. If you watch in full screen you'll see them swaying, especially when Fred fans them at the end.
Cool video. I've always heard spawning fish meant healthy non stressed fish. Well done. Would love to see some recent full tank shots. How much has the RBTA grown?
It's been almost a year since I've updated. I've decided to upgrade to a Red Sea Reefer 450 so I can have all the equipment of my choosing and the space for it instead of having to constantly modify the RSM 250. Also, I'd like to start fresh with a tank without some of the mistakes that I made with this first one, ie crushed coral substrate, blue snowflake clavularia to name a few. My rbta split last summer so I'll be moving those to my new tank along with all the fish and a few corals that I can safely frag without getting any clavularia with it. I'm using 2 radions over the new tank so I have to wait until I'm absolutely breaking this one down to get a decent photo of the new tank since it only has one at this time. Here's a couple of quick photos:
