Hair algae

Fighting hair algae I have been fight it with carbon and gfo for a week and Hanna checker shows no drop still at .9 I’m thinking on phosguard any other ideas???

 

It will take a lot longer than a week to get PO4 down from that high. You may have to change GFO pretty often with it that high as it will get exhausted quickly. One way to figure it out is to check PO4 in the effluent water of the reactor. If it's not lower or especially if it's higher the GFO is spent.

 

May have to setup another gfo setup because I needed it back on the reef tank

 

Also watch out as it starts to drop...you most certainly don't want to drive PO4 too low!

 

I know it’s still high without even putting it in the Hanna bc it’s blue
