Love those babies, throw them over in your fuge since it's teaming with pods and I bet they will survive.

maybe they would eat those live tiger pods? Several stores sells. Ocean Nutrition brand calls them tigger pods. Even my local Petco sells a different brand. Not sure they would eat them or not but they are live food.

Quick ? Did you intend to breed these or was it by accident? I'm impressed either way. Good work!

Nope... Didnt intend for it to happen.. I was hopeful that it would though. Breeding is a good sign an aquarium... Means things are being done right.

I however had no plan on trying to make breeding part of my regular routine. This all come from the Male being behind the power head in the upper left corner of my tank for almost a month. I swore he was holding and low and behold (after everyone thought I was crazy) I spotted them swimming in his mouth.

We netted him and he spit these guys out... After a month of not eating or anything he didnt really put up a fight or try to get away from the net.

Never the less now that we do have them, I am going to give them the best shot that I can in getting them some food and what not. The kids are excited and the wife is too so I will do my best to keep these guys entertained while I have them.

Now that I know it is happening though I wouldnt turn down a chance to catch it again when they have another clutch. If I can successfully rear the young without stressing my 3 adults I will continue to do so. I will not however make it my mission to become a breeder full time though.

So, are you holding them in the main tank in a breeder net or are they in your fuge?

When I arrived home yesterday I was mad.... Mad to find that the lights on my tank had been off all day due to some crazy way I have things done (which will be fixed asap).

Needless to say I go to turn them back on and walk around the house for a bit when I walked over to the tank and two of my Banggais took off under the rock work.  This (least in my tank) never happens. These guys usually are the ones that meet me at the glass staring at me as hard as I stare at them most of the time. So, long story short I get to looking around and peeping through the holes to see them and low and behold on of them had a Jaw like the animated Joker of olden days. Large, fully bulged, so much so he couldnt close his mouth good.

As I peered closer they hovered in a good hole but as soon as I was about to just leave them be he gasped. The ENTIRE mouth of this guy looked like he was chewing Big League Chew! He has an entire mouth full of eggs!

If this batch makes it he could be holding quite a few this go around. I hear these stories of 15 to 20 per batch... I never got in to this with the idea of breading fish but now that I have watched this unfold I am hooked.  I cant wait till the next batch and the next try.

I now have two hatcheries, a small breeders net and a tank divider for my frag tank... I am ready for round TWO!

I think this is great. I would like to put my name in for a few of the babies if you get them to the selling stage. I wish you lots of luck with this batch.

Cool! I would like to check this out in person. And I have yet to see your tank. Would there be an opportunity anytime soon. Before the eggs hatch?

Thanks Norm!  And I will most def, put you on the list for a few if I can keep this up. I didnt want to be to hopeful at first but now that the first ones are going on 20 days and eating like champs and I have another mouth full of eggs.... I hope to have twice as many this next go around.
