So sorry Adam! Any clue what happened? Oxygen depletion? Ammonia spike?

Was doing a run of chemiclean and vibrant I’m thinking maybe should of done it separate or I wasn’t running the Hob so maybe a spike from not removing left over food not positive they were all fine last night and have been using the chemicals since the weekend

Vibrant can cause a bacterial bloom and I think Chemiclean can cause low oxygen as well. Sounds like it might have been oxygen depletion. You having cyano issues?

I don't mess with cyano too much as it's usually not going to bother anything and the treatments can! For the record if it responded to Chemiclean it was spirulina not the common bacteria that is called cyano.

Lot's of people keep their skimmer running and just remove the cup to let it fall back in to the sump. That helps with gas exchange and can prevent thy hypoxia that can kill fish like you probably had.
