I took some pictures of my 125g tonight. Mostly pictures of my Acropora corals. Some are just starting while others are well established and need to be fragged. View attachment 5803
Really pretty! I am starting up a 75 gallon soon, I hope I can get my acros to be this pretty. You run T5s right?
Thank you Adam. Yes I do run T5 on that tank. In my personal opinion, no other lights can compare to T5 when it comes to Acro growth. LED and MH are both great options too but for me T5 is where it is at. A lot of the well known vendors use T5 too but the supplement with ReefBrite LEDs. LEDs will get the color to "pop" that you just cant get with T5. Also keep in mind that not all T5 fixtures are created equal. You want highly polished (almost mirror like) individual reflectors. In other words, not just one big reflector running the width of the fixture. Additionally, you want good quality bulbs like ATI or Geiesmann. I run ATI. When it comes to bulb selection, that is a topic on its own. What I will say is don't take anyone's word as gospel when it comes to bulb selection. The combo they use may not be what you are looking for. I have no problem revealing my bulb combo but again, it may not be what you are looking for.
Oh yeah, I run a 6 bulb ATI Sunpower over that tank and my frag tank. In my opinion that is one of the best fixtures you can buy.
I'm running blue + blue + blue + purple + AquaBlu purple + blue + blue + I've been debating swapping a purple for blue, over a 135g pool tank. I like the coloration you're getting, keep it up!
I used to run Aqua Blue Special Blue Plus Purple Plus Blue Plus Blue Plus Aqua Blue Special I had incredible growth but boring colors. Replacing a ABS for a True Actinic and then shifting a bulb around made all the difference. I'm really pleased with this combo. I may switch out my ABS with a Coral Plus in the future just to give it a try. I'm a little reluctant, no broke why fix it.
Hiya, I have a four bulb T5. Lagoon Blue True Blue Pink Actinic I was going to switch the actinic out for another blue colored bulb, but Kevin talked me out of it. Kim/Benton, R
